Nelson Eugene Jennings

Nelson Eugene Jennings, age 70, passed away at home on Tuesday February 17, 2026. 

He was born in San Jose California on January 23rd, 1956 to Bill and Hazel Jennings. The first of three children, Nelson was big brother to sister Carla Jennings, and brother Bryan Jennings, both of Columbia Missouri. Nelson was father to his son William Robert Jennings, and PaPa to his three grandchildren, Keandra, William Jr., and Trenton Jennings, all of Linn Creek, Missouri. Nelson was father to one step daughter Kimberly Gregg of California. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Susan Jennings, and his parents. 

Nelson and Susan made their home in Longview Washington in 1996. Nelson was a member of IBEW local 332 in San Jose California, retiring in 2015. He devoted his life to the people and things that he loved the most. His family, his friends, and his hobbies. Nelson was a sports fan, fisherman, golfer and shuffleboard player. He was ranked alongside his Dad (#1, #2) in the Shuffleboard registry, and was known throughout the community as a fierce competitor. Rather than slowing down, Nelson’s love of the game only grew with his age, and he played until his last days. 

Nelson described his friends as, “Very best of the best, in all of the land.” He will be sorely missed by his family, and those that he called friend.
