and Arthur Julius Noseda. She passed on Thu. January 25 th at St. John’s hospital. She was the fourth of six
daughters and the first to be born in a hospital. With the exception of her college years, she lived her life
in Kelso. She was thankful that her grandparents, Ethel (Sylvester) and Jack Noseda chose to emigrate
from Canada, and Maryanne (Plank Beck) Richardson chose to move across the plains to live in the local
area. She loved the Pacific Northwest and thought of it as God’s Country.
Linda graduated from Kelso High School in 1962 and Marylhurst College in 1966 with a bachelor degree
in education. She married David John Waterman in 1967 and after 10 years of marriage they divorced.
She was a single mom who raised 4 beautiful daughters: Jessica Ann Baker (Thomas), Stacey Lynn
Waterman, Sarah Beth Waterman and Meredith Marie Castro (Jerry). She was very proud of her
grandchildren, Maddie and Ryan Baker, Aidan and Willa Hoey, and Malynne and JD Castro. She loved her
sisters, many nieces, nephews and their children as well!
After her divorce, Linda worked briefly for Head Start and several years with the Kelso School District.
She was then hired by the Washington State Dept. of Employment Security in August of 1980 where she
specialized in unemployment services. She worked several years for both the school district and the
state before becoming a permanent state employee. She retired in Dec. 2008, but returned for a project
position and worked until June of 2009. She especially enjoyed working with the public and felt proud to
work as a “public servant”.
She is survived by her beloved sisters Maryann Gennette, Shirley Knudeson, Suzie Cowan and Adrienne
Stacey and preceded in death by Patricia Turk. She was a devout Catholic throughout her life. Her
funeral will be at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 2200 Allen Street in Kelso on Tue. Feb 6 th .
