Helen Shipley "GG"

Helen Marie Shipley, fondly known as "GG", was called by God to come home, on August 28, 2023.

Helen was born in Ord, Nebraska on March 2, 1928 to Ivan and Willa DeWeese (Sutton). She was raised in Nebraska until her family relocated to Oregon in 1958. She later resided in Roseburg, Oregon with her daughter, Hazel and her son-in-law Russ Barrie for many years. A few weeks before her death, she came to Castle Rock to spend time with her son, Frank and daughter-in-law Diana; this is where God called her home.

Helen was engaged with the Old Lady Luncheon in Tigard, Oregon. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Center as well as going to church.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edwin Shipley Sr. in 1998, 8 of her 11 children, her father Ivan, her mother Willa as well as 2 brothers.

GG is survived by her children, son Frank, (Diana O'Sullivan), daughter Hazel, (Russ Barrie) and son Alan, with grandsons, Joshua and Anthony, granddaughter Desiree and great-granddaughter Eliana.

If you were blessed to know her, you loved her. And she loved you right back. Her church, family and friends were her livelihood.
