Darrell Eugene Lafrenz, a beacon of joy and laughter, passed away on June 15, 2025, in Longview, Washington. Darrell was born February 17, 1967. With a heart as expansive as his laughter, Darrell navigated through life’s adventures, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to share in his journey.

As a dedicated Operations Specialist, Darrell exemplified commitment and expertise in his field, earning respect and admiration from colleagues. His educational roots were planted at Kalama High School, where the seeds of camaraderie and laughter took hold among friends who would later stand by his side throughout life's ebbs and flows.

A proud veteran, Darrell served in the Navy for an inspiring twenty-five years, courageously defending the values he held dear. His military service was a testament to his dedication and pursuit of excellence, imbuing him with qualities that shaped his character and contributed to the joy he spread in civilian life.

Darrell's personality radiated warmth and humor. He was loved by everyone he encountered, his presence turning mundane moments into cherished memories. Known as the life of the party, his infectious laughter and jovial spirit made him both memorable and adored. His love for music was boundless; there wasn’t a song he couldn’t hum or lyrics he couldn’t recite. Movies were more than just entertainment for Darrell; they were a source of endless quotes and humorous commentary that brightened the spirits of those around him. Darrell also was not one to shy away from singing karaoke with his friends.

In quieter moments, Darrell found solace in flying, often dreaming of holding a pilot’s license. His passion for aviation was vividly brought to life through the flight simulator he meticulously built, a testament to his knack for turning dreams into reality.

Darrell leaves behind a tapestry of love woven through the lives of family and friends. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Asia Lafrenz, of Kalama, and his supportive sisters, Ginger Lafrenz-James of Kalama, and Julie Lafrenz of Longview. His legacy also continues through his nephews: Nick, Skylar, Lane, Zach Lafrenz and Wyatt James, along with his great niece, Jocelyn Lafrenz, along side numerous dear friends and extended family.

Darrell now joins his beloved parents, Gordon Lafrenz, who departed this world in December 2019, and Betty Lafrenz, who left us in March 2019. His brother, Howard Lafrenz, who passed away in August 2022, now stands with him in peace. The laughter and joy that defined Darrell's life are now eternally echoed through the memories of those who loved him deeply.

As we bid farewell to an extraordinary soul, we celebrate the life of Darrell Eugene Lafrenz—a man whose laughter brightened the darkest days and whose love enveloped all. May his spirit soar across the skies he adored, leaving trails of joy that we will forever cherish.
