Byron Grant Dye
It is with deep heartbreak that we share that Byron Grant Dye has passed away after a short illness on April 7, 2026 in Puyallup, Washington. He was 63 years old.
Byron was born on May 24, 1962, the fourth child of Henry Willis Dye and Joyce Vernetta (Larsen) Dye in Shelby, Montana. He was baptized at the Galata Lutheran Church on July 1, 1962. He grew up alongside two older brothers, John and Doug, one older sister Lorraine (Dolly) and one younger sister, Brenda.
Byron graduated from Shelby High School and Montana State University with a degree in computer science engineering. Upon graduation, Byron hired on with the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington where he worked for over 32 years.
Byron enjoyed a number of sporting activities with his coworkers such as broom ball, golf, skiing and softball. Later on he would enjoy camping with friends and family to favorite destinations in the state of Washington.
Byron was a huge sports enthusiast/aficionado following the Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Mariners, the Seattle Kraken, the Seawolves and Nascar. Byron could always be counted on to send texts messages when events were about to begin.
Byron met the love of his life, Virginia Seidelman Holderith about 20 years ago and shared a partnership for that time. He also became great friends with her children Jonathan, Joshua, Gretchen and her son Henry. Byron also was fond of all of Virginia’s animals, cats, dogs and birds.
Byron was preceded in death by brother John, niece Christy, nephew Nathan, brother Doug and his parents Henry and Joyce Dye.
Byron is survived by partner Virginia (Jonathan, Joshua, Gretchen and Henry), sister Lorraine (Dolly)(Kim) Fields, sister Brenda (Bob) Froelich, a special niece Sarah (Rob, Samuel, Allison) Rosler, two special nephews Philip Froelich and Nicholas Froelich, an Aunt LouAnn Burd and numerous cousins.
Byron left far too soon and will be greatly missed.
Celebration of life will be held May 14, 2026 11 am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 515 S.312th Street, Federal Way, Washington. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
