Bert Roland Martineau

August 5, 1932 — October 11, 2023

Bert Martineau peacefully passed away on October 11, 2023 at the age of 91. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on August 5, 1932 to Adrian and Sally Martineau. His parents died when Bert was six months old, and he was raised by his grandparents who owned a logging camp near Bangor, Maine. When he returned from his term in Germany, they bought the farm on Spruce Creek Road in the Oak Point area west of Longview where they celebrated 67 years of marriage. They raised their four children there. Bert enjoyed raising horses, cattle and sheep and had many loyal border collies over the years.

He worked in several mills and all of the logging supply businesses in Longview before retiring early to become a full-fledged farmer.

Bert and Laura's youngest child, Bart, passed away last year. Bert was very sad and missed Bart greatly after his passing.
